Tesmanian reports that Tesla Giga Berlin is filling positions with mostly regional workers. Eva Fox writes in the Tesmanian that The search for skilled workers for Tesla's Grünheide plant is proceeding according to plan, Brandenburg Economy Minister Jörg Steinbach said at East Germany's Entrepreneur Day. He confirmed that, in particular, the region where Giga Berlin is located will benefit from the new plant. According to the current status, more than half of the employees are from Berlin and Brandenburg, which is in line with Tesla's vision. “This is more than we expected,” Steinbach said.

Tesla's first European factory for electric cars in Brandenburg near Berlin is behind schedule. The plant will probably start operations in December, six months later. The large battery factory planned at the site is also being delayed. Tesla should also have problems recruiting staff, but according to politics, everything is within limits.

The US electric car manufacturer is on schedule in the search for skilled workers for the factory in the community of Grünheide, according to Brandenburg's Economics Minister Jörg Steinbach (SPD). The recruitment is about the time frame that was planned, said Steinbach on Wednesday in Potsdam with a view to Tesla and other major investors in the country. At Tesla, according to previous information, more than half of the current employees come from the local area including Berlin, which relaxes the living space situation. The rest is spread across Germany and abroad. The proportion of Polish workers is smaller than expected.

The final approval from the state of Brandenburg for the German Tesla factory Giga Berlin is still pending. So far, the group has been building through early approvals. Model Y electric cars are already being produced in the “Gigafactory” Berlin for internal test purposes. After the start, up to 500,000 cars per year with around 12,000 employees are planned in an initial expansion stage. In addition to the mid-size SUV Model Y, production will later also include the mid-size sedan Model 3. So far, both models have been exported from China to Europe.
